Ripley First Baptist Church Youth Ministry

Ephesians 6: 10-17

10 A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to STAND firm against all strategies of the devil. 12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be STANDING firm. 14 STAND your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. 16 In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

The Stand

In our Youth Ministry, we take God's calling to the spiritual battlefield seriously. It's no coincidence that Paul uses the word "stand" three times in this passage. During a battle, standing is a sign of strength, power, and victory. We take the name of our Wednesday night youth service directly from this passage. Every Wednesday night, our 6th-12th graders come together to take their "stand" on the power of God's truth. We help equip these young people with God's armor through engaging worship, relevant teaching from God's Word, and fellowship with other Christ-followers. We place a huge emphasis on spiritual discipline, unity among believers, and outreach to the community. Come check us out every Wednesday night at 6:00 PM at The Stand.

Sunday School

Every Sunday morning we have Sunday School from 9:15 to 10:00 AM. In Sunday School, we emphasize small groups gathering to discuss God's Word and its application to our lives today. We use the Live Curriculum which teaches the Bible to teens in a way that encourages a Christ-centered life. Come have a doughnut and some orange juice as we dive into the Word of God.

Summer Camp

Our youth will be attending X-Fuge on Mission in New Orleans this summer. This is a missions camp at Tulane University. The cost of the camp is $375, and there will be plenty of fundraisers to provide a way for anyone to go. The camp is June 25-29 (Monday-Friday). We are taking $50 deposits now through February 22 to reserve your spot.
