We had a quite a week of Vacation Bible School.  The week was capped off with Children's Sunday on June 13.  Dr. Bryant Milsaps, Executive Director of the Tennessee Baptist Children's Home was the guest speaker for the morning services.  The church presented Troy Styers, Campus Director for the Boys Ranch in Millington with the money the children had collected through the "Penny Wars" in Bible School.  It was a wonderful time of celebration and worship on that Sunday morning.

Through the Penny Wars Offering in Vacation Bible School, the children of our church raised $781.00 for the Boys Ranch.
Pastor Mickey presents a check to Troy Styers, who then spoke about the work of the Boys Ranch in Millington.
The Children's Choir sang two of the songs they learned in Bible School. Dr. Bryant Milsaps brings an inspirational message during the service.

Our Youth Ministry concluded its Impact Mission Week by participating in the opening ceremonies for the Downtown Renovation Project on Friday afternoon, June 4th.  The Youth Choir sang three songs for the opening.  Peyton Nipp sang the solo on "Go Light Your World" and Drew Dedmon did the solo on "Give Me Your Eyes."  You can be very proud of the outstanding job the choir did and the way they represented our church.  Enjoy the photos.

YOUTH CHOIR SINGS FOR DOWNTOWN RENOVATION CEREMONIES
June 4, 2010

The choir gathers under the tent to begin the program. A late afternoon shower did not dampen the spirit of the crowd. The choir opened with "Lifesong," one of their favorites.
Peyton did an outstanding job in singing the solo on "Go Light Your World." The crowd grew as the choir continued singing.
Drew sang "Give Me Your Eyes" with the choir providing the backup. We are very proud of our Youth Choir!

The month of May was a busy month for our Senior Adult Ministry.  We began the month with Senior Adult Sunday on May 2nd.  Rev. Paul Woodford, Pastor of the Ripley First Baptist Church from 1974 - 1980, was the guest speaker.  Bro. Paul was able to renew many old friendships as well as make many new friends in Ripley.  Following the worship service, all of our senior adults enjoyed a potluck luncheon and fellowship in the Family Life Center.

In the weeks following Senior Adult Sunday, our Senior Adult Choir made several appearances at assisted living and residential centers in the Ripley area.  The major ministry of our Senior Adult Choir is providing programs of favorite hymns and gospel songs at the nursing facilities in our area.  Pictured below are several pictures from the group's trip to the Ripley Residential and Rehab Center located on Halliburton Street in Ripley.

If you come to the downtown area of Ripley, you will notice a lot of changes going on.  We are excited about the new look of the Ripley Square and eagerly anticipate its completion.
You will also notice that are is a new look around the church.  On September 8th, the demolition of the buildings located adajacent to the south side of the education building, known as the Forsythe Property, began.  The work took all week, but we are pleased to announce that the buildings are now gone.
No definite plans have been made regarding the future use of the property, but you can definitely see the promising potential that the are holds for our church

YOUTH SUNDAY
APRIL 5, 2009
Bro. Mickey welcomes everyone to the special services. The Youth Choir fills the Choir Loft and leads in singing. Alex Wilson leads in a time of prayer.
Dalton, J.T., Jeffrey, & Crystal lead the congregation in singing. Crystal Jones prepares to play the offertory. Jack Francis provides the solo for the choir song.
Paige, J.T., & Dalton set up a scene for the drama, "This Is Your Life." Ryan & Alex have a confrontation. Elizabeth Edwards really gets into her part.
Ryan takes a fall as others make fun. (It's part of the drama!) In the end, we all must ask, "Are we who we say we are?" Michael Forsythe challenges us to give our hearts to Christ.
