     From the Pastor........

First Baptist Church, Ripley, was organized during the winter months of 1852 - 1853, soon becoming a place of spiritual nourishment and strength in downtown Ripley and Lauderdale County.

As my wife Linda and I mark the first anniversary of our calling to First Baptist Church, we can truly say it is a blessing to serve this great church.

If you and your family are looking for a church home, let me urge you to come and experience the fellowship and worship of First Baptist Church, Ripley.  You will find a body of believers who will accept you and love you as God teaches us to love.  First Baptist is a strong and vibrant Southern Baptist Church with ministries for all ages.  You will find a safe and spiritually motivated place for your children and you.

Darren Dedmon, our Minister of Students, is second to none in his devotion to being a spiritual mentor to our students of all ages.

David Elkins, our Minister of Music and Education, has served the church for the past twenty five years and is a joy and blessing as he leads us in a blended style of worship each week.  He also works with our teachers to develop a Biblically based curriculum which is relevant to this generation.

As pastor, I preach from the perspective and belief given to us in passages like II Timothy 3: 15 - 17:

"And from childhood you have known the Holy Scripture, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work."
