     In the fall of 2009, the Ripley First Baptist Church began the monumental task of planning the renovation of the Education Building of the church.  It would be the first renovation of the building since its construction in 1954.  The project would involve three major phases:  Removal of the Forsythe Property located on the south side of the building for the construction of a new parking lot; repair and renovation of the outside of the building, including the construction of a covered portico entrance; and replacing all the existing windows of the education building with new, energy efficient windows.

Once the plans for the renovations were presented, the church responded by pledging nearly $94,000.00 over the next two years to the project.
 
In addition to the pledges, $23,000.00 was
given to the project.

A major expense in the project was the replacement of the existing
windows in the building with energy efficient replacement windows.

The Eduction Building will now be painted to coordinate with work & renovations
that are being done as a part of the Ripley Downtown Renovations.

An additional part of the project is the outside cleaning of the sanctuary.
The blue lines are placed on the building to assist the workers in putting new caulking between the slabs of grantie.
